In thinking about the public relations battle between President Obama and his critics, I find myself thinking of that lovable scamp Ferris Beuller gracefully riding a wave of self confidence and popularity, while his Nemesis, Principal Ed Rooney, haplessly pursues him only to to be thwarted at every turn by his own jealousy, incompetence, and obliviousness.Is it really that hard to see this cult classic as an apt description of President Obama and his increasingly hysterical and decreasingly credible critics? If you want to know how the president is doing politically at the 100 day mark, maybe you should go rent a movie.
